Speak Up Windsor!

What is happening to our city? Our current Mayor and City Councillors seem to be flapping around with several projects and ideas, yet our city is falling apart at the seams. Windsor has now garnered the reputation of being the worst city in all of Canada to live in.
We have excessively high unemployment, little or no new industry or manufacturing to provide growth and prosperity; few if any tourist attractions; a depressed attitude throughout the municipality and right now little hope for the future.
We have a Mayor that believes he can do no wrong and who has become a dictator in terms of his own agenda; and unfortunately, the citizens of Windsor have little or no recourse to stop him.
How many municipal disasters does it take to destroy a city - let's see - how about a new arena that is surely well over budget and that in it's enfancy already lacks enough parking; how about the Canderal scandal where thousands of our tax dollars are spent on rent for empty space every month; how about the 400 building audit that was covered up by fast talk; how about the Mayor's desire to take over the tunnel; how about the latest fiasco - a canal within the downtown area? Useless legal fees and countless high priced studies and to what end? The list can go on and on and on. If Windsor wasn't such a mess, it would almost be funny! Perhaps we should submit the antics of our mayor and city council to a certain Saturday night comedy show so that at least we could laugh about it!
Well, as for me, I've had enough! I strongly believe that Windsor has well-educated, intelligent, and dedicated citizens who should be standing up right now to demonstrate their opposition and dissatisfaction with the way our city is being managed.
That's why "Speak Up Windsor" is here! I don't proclaim to be overly knowledgeable about municipal politics but I can identify with common sense or the lack of in terms of our city administration. I will regularly voice my opinion on what's happening in Windsor and I sincerely hope my audience will do the same.
Get ready Windsor to "Speak Up"!
